“Adapting the aesthetics of thai letters in latin alphabet, I tried to fuse opposing approaches (in terms of punctuation, letter- and line-spacing) in order to have a more diverse tool of expression in typography. The thai alphabet was established by king Ramkhamhaeng and its first proof of existence was a bill of laws and rights from 1292. Ramkhamhaeng ruled by theses laws and so was able to unify this multiethnic country for the first time, heralding one of the most splendid and prosporous eras of sukothai - all by the achievement of a common code. peace by a unifying cultural effort. This font was a rather quick experiment and is not well-kerned yet or anything, so feel free to improve it and please let me know if you do so.”

To be honest, I can barely understand the letters. Perhaps, I am Thai. I can read Thai. Probably, you won’t be showing this typefaces to Thai people because it will be extremely hard to understand for us. Luckily, Thais aren’t your target area.

You’d understand if someone makes their typeface in his/her language from English, it will be hard for you as well.

The fonts being displayed and introduced here were developed by students in seminars and workshops offered by Pascal Glissmann ... more
